GDPR Certification for Barristers

The Bar

Due to the nature of the information barristers handle day-to-day, when it comes to data protection the Bar is a high-risk profession. With increasing cyber-attacks on barristers and sets of chambers as well as the more traditional risks such as leaving papers on a train, the Bar Council has identified GDPR and information security as one of the biggest challenges facing the profession. The consequences for barristers, chambers and the profession of failing at GDPR are enormous.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has stated that if a business achieves a GDPR Certification it will help demonstrate compliance with GDPR to the regulator and mitigate against possible ICO enforcement action, such as fines. This Certification will provide you with the opportunity to engage in a process to achieve a barrister-specific GDPR Certification to ensure that you can quickly and easily reach GDPR compliance.
